Tyler – I have built confidence in myself and my body and that is the biggest gain
- When I first came to SUFS I had quite a bad back. It was a slow process of strengthening my muscles, but after about 6-9 weeks of dedication and hard work, my back began to improve drastically to the point that back pain was only experienced once every 2-3 weeks. And now after about 3 months, I can say with an extremely big smile that back pain is no longer a concern for me.
My physical weight has not changed much in the last 3 months, but certainly some of the excess baggage i was carrying when i arrived is now being weighed in as muscle.
When I first arrived I had no strength in my upper body at all. Struggling to lift even the lightest of weights or do the simplest of press exercises like a Push Up. Now I am pumping significant weights and even today found moving furniture around our house to be a breeze.
I was always concerned about my lower back, knees, shoulders - the usual suspects - and through our training regime at SYFS I have not only built strength and support for each of these joints... I have built confidence in myself and my body and that is the biggest gain.
It is strange to say 'the atmosphere' as very few words get exchanged during a session... instead we communicate with glances of exhaustion and hardship. Just like the old Diggers; Mateship was born from the collective struggle and adversity of those around you. And Robbie couldnt be a nicer bloke!
